A Rosé is a type of wine that has some of the color typical of a red wine, but only enough to turn it pink. The pink color can range from a pale orange to a vivid near-purple, depending on the grapes and winemaking techniques.

2006 dry Rosé of Sangiovese

After making wine for 30 years, we decided it was finally time to try our hand at producing a rosé and we're pretty pleased with the results. A few different methods were used to p ...moreroduce this first rosé including the traditional saigneé method. The Sangiovese grapes are first cold soaked for a short period, then a portion of the salmon-hued juice is bled off fraction of the juice is bled off. The result is what a rosé should be--crisp, vibrant, easy-going and perfect for summer.

Enjoy this crowd-pleasing quaffer chilled, either on its own or with a wide range of foods, including fish, chicken, ham and pork, grilled and barbecued fare, and spicy Asian, Hispanic and Caribbean cuisines.

2004 Rose of Merlot
Napa Valley

Americans suddenly seem to realize what people along the Mediterranean Coast have known for centuries: rosé can be every bit as compelling as red or white wine, if it's made the ri ...moreght way. For us, that means using 100% Napa Valley fruit; barrel fermenting and sur-lie aging the wine for added richness; and striving for balance and complexity, the common denominators for all great wines.

Brisk and refreshing, reminiscent of fresh strawberries, raspberries and plums. This vintage is drinking beautifully right now and is the perfect apertif wine!

2006 Pinot Noir Rose
Mission Ranch, Arroyo Seco

Shortly after the Mariafeld clone Pinot from the Mission Ranch was crushed and put into 1½ ton open-topped fermenters, juice was drawn off the skins and put into two neutral-oak ba ...morerrels. The pink wine was then fermented completely dry and bottled after only seven months.

This Rose is a lovely shade of coral. In the nose, subtle aromas of orange oil, caraway seed, and cherries give way to a rich mid-palate full of flavor and a dry, persistent finish with great food-pairing acidity. Just over 40 cases of this wine were produced.

Rodney's Vineyard

Barrel Aging: 30% stainless 70% barrel fermented

When the winemaker thinks of Grenache Rose, he thinks of beautiful aromatics, an enticing strawberry color and crisp fruit flavors of strawberry, cherry and watermelon. When we think of Grenache Rose, we think of long, warm summer evenings, afternoon barbecues with some good friends and lazy days by the pool.

This dry Rose is the perfect compliment for any picnic or barbecue event. And, though the Rose enhances any outdoor meal, it is equally appealing to have a glass on its own while enjoying the end of a day.

A glass of Rose takes lounging on your patio to a whole new level.

My favorite summertime wine is a dry, crisp Rosé and this year’s version is similar to the 2005 and again comes from the vines in front of the winery, blended with grapes from Salm ...moreina vineyard. I bottled the wine with a screw cap to preserve the freshness and delicacy of this wine. Screwcaps are quite rapidly becoming the closure of choice for delicate wines and I expect them to make major strides with all wines in the next few years. 240 cases produced.
