2006 dry Rosé of Sangiovese

After making wine for 30 years, we decided it was finally time to try our hand at producing a rosé and we're pretty pleased with the results. A few different methods were used to ... moreproduce this first rosé including the traditional saigneé method. The Sangiovese grapes are first cold soaked for a short period, then a portion of the salmon-hued juice is bled off fraction of the juice is bled off. The result is what a rosé should be--crisp, vibrant, easy-going and perfect for summer.

2004 Merlot

The color of the 2004 Wetzel Family Estate Merlot is dark ruby red. Aromas of blackberry and cassis fill the glass with nuances of vanilla and cedar. On the palate this wine is dee ... moreply flavored with a hefty core of fruit. Black and red fruits appear initially, followed by an integrated acid balance and velvety tannins. 2004 Sin Zin Zinfandel
Alexander Valley, California

The label of this fruity Zinfandel tells the story: a figure, clearly relaxing in the summer sun, tips back a horn, obviously enjoying a cooling drink from its contents. The Sin Zi ... moren, in fact, is a perfect summer red, with lots of rich fruit aromas including raspberry, plum, and black cherry. It's full-bodied, but has a touch higher acidity than many Zins, which keeps it refreshing and food-friendly.

2003 Syrah
Alexander Valley, California

Eighty miles north of San Francisco, the Alexander Valley is considered a warm winegrowing area, but with a crucial difference: in the evenings cooling winds flow into the valley t ... morehrough the Healdsburg Gap, giving the grapes a respite from the day's sun and concentrating their acidity and flavors. The Alexander Valley Vineyards Syrah takes full advantage of these conditions; this full-bodied wine has lots of blackberry, boysenberry, and black pepper aromas, while its light tannins and good acidity makes it a great food wine.

Its meager, rocky soils coupled with maritime breezes, ample sunshine and the inversions layer’s magic touch result in a complex spice profile (juniper, star anise) and savor ...
