The beginnings were inauspicious. The tiny winery got its first life in the basement of a prune barn, behind a plywood door and next to three barrels of vinegar. Rick started with three tons of Petite Sirah, three tons of Zinfandel and a heavy dose of chutzpa. The year was 1997. Over time, Rick expanded to five varietals the original Petite Sirah and Zinfandel were joined by a Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. Excellent ratings by wine critics pushed production demands for Rick’s wines beyond the confines of the current winery.

2006 Chardonnay
Russian River Valley, Peters Vineyard

Peters Vineyard is located on the western edge of Russian River Valley and because of its cool setting is ideal for growing some of the best Burgundian varietals in California. T ... morehe 2006 Peters Chardonnay is feminine and delicate, with perfumes of gala apple, lemon custard, honey and brioche. The wine glides across the palate with a light silkiness and maintains its vibrant acidity on the finish. A fantastic wine to pair with flash seared ahi tuna encrusted with toasted hazelnuts and lightly topped with a ginger soy reduction. For simpler fare, go with lobster!
