Chardonnay
|
2005 Gabriella Ranch Chardonnay
This bright and vibrant wine is made in the European style utilizing minimal exposure to oak to preserve the fruity crispness from the grapes. With just 3 month in oak, this style ... moreof chardonnay falls right in line with the current trend in the wine industry of straying from the classic California style wine that is generally heavy in oak. We have chosen to produce our Chardonnay in this style to conserve the beautiful crisp flavors of the fruit which makes it a perfect addition for light summer fare such as salads, fish and pasta dishes.

Syrah
|
2005 El Dorado Syrah El Dorado County
Our Syrah comes to us from a two acre vineyard in Somerset in El Dorado County. The soils are typical of hillside vineyards, shallow and well drained. The fruit was harvested in ½ ... more ton picking bins. Treated similarly to Pinot Noir, a small amount was fermented as whole clusters and the entire must was chilled down to cold soak for extraction. After a spontaneous fermentation started with indigenous yeast we did punch downs every two hours also helped for extraction of flavors and depth of color. The wine was barrel aged for 18 months in neutral American oak. The resulting wine is dark and full with Rhone style richness. The slightly floral aromas precede earthy flavors, rich fruit character, subtle cloves and the moderate tannins call for aging.

Sangiovese
|
2005 Sonoma Valley Sangiovese Sonoma Valley
This is our second vintage of this easy drinking Italian varietal. Our inaugural release was sold out in 3 months! Italian immigrants from Tuscany introduced the Sangiovese grape t ... moreo California in the late 1800’s. Sanguis Jovis, the Latin origin for the varietal name, literally means ‘blood of Jove’ and Sangiovese is the primary grape in Italian Chianti. The flavor profile of Sangiovese is fruity, with moderate to high natural acidity and a light to medium body with strawberry, blueberry, violet and clove characteristics. Sangiovese is also the primary grape in Super Tuscan wines produced in Italy and here in the U.S.
Aglianico
|
2005 Estate Aglianico Belmonte Estate, Sonoma Valley
Our inaugural release of Aglianico! This grape is believed to have originated in Greece and brought to Italy by the Phoenicians. Today it is grown in the Campania and Basilicata re ... moregions. There are less than 20 acres of Aglianico planted in the United States. Aglianico generally displays a deep garnet color and rich satiny texture with earthy aromas such as coffee and leather. Like Sangiovese and Barbera, Aglianico is an acid driven wine which allows for some aging and pairs well with hearty dishes or rich sauces.
