Cabernet Sauvignon
|
2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Testa Vineyards Mendocino County
The 2005 Testa Cab is made from very small berries and exhibits silky skin tannins that carry it's remarkable Cabernet Sauvignon fruit. A dense, dark wine that is both brooding and ... more appealing. Tony feels this wine has excellent cellaring potential and can be consumed now through 2020.
This is a classic Cabernet of yesteryear, that wants to be paired with an aged steak, grilled eggplant brushed with olive oil, or a decadent chocolate dessert.

Merlot
|
2003 Merlot Feingold Vineyards
This is not a subdued wine. It has the classic earmarkings of its French counterpart. Full in structure from start to finish with a dark cherry nose, slight hints of cedar and bala ... morenced tannins.
This is a classic representation of what merlot is should be. If Miles had tasted this merlot, he would have changed his statement in the movie "Sideways" to reflect the great character of this Bordeaux varietal.

Merlot
|
2005 Merlot Maclise Vineyards
2005 was a great vintage, slightly cooler than 2004. The Maclise Merlot from this vintage is very deeply colored, silky, streamlined and focused. A ripe dry cherry nose, finely tex ... moretured mid palate and smooth acid finish characterize this wine.
This wine will match well with grilled foods, marinated and grilled lamb, smoked eggplant or simply enjoyed with a nice triple cream brie and crusty sourdough bread.

2004 Syrah/Merlot Feingold Vineyards
What a tasty blend! The Syrah with its earthiness, firm, juicy structure gives such an excellent backbone to the cherry-nosed Merlot with its hints of cedar. This wine is a delight ... more and will pair with foods that have some hardiness as well as some involved flavors.

Zinfandel
|
2005 Zinfandel Chauvet Vineyards
Bob and Blyth Carver have owned Chauvet vineyards since the early 1970's. They named their vineyards after John Chauvet the founder of the town of Glen Ellen. This Zinfandel is rem ... moreiniscent of the Zinfandels produced in the late 1970's: very dark color, aromas of blackberries, a sweet middle and a dry acid finish. A very BRIGHT wine that is pleasing to the palate.
Try it with a piece of blue cheese and loaf of sour dough bread after a long, hard day. Other matches could be hearty stews and bittersweet desserts.

Zinfandel
|
2005 Zinfandel Coturri Estate Vineyards
We planted our Estate Zinfandel in 1975. Our vineyard is 5 acres. It's dry farmed meaning there isn't any irrigation. The only water the vines receive is the winter and spring rain ... mores. The yield is quite small, usually around 3 tons. The concentration of flavors and taste is astounding. This wine has black fruit in the nose, a very sweet mid-palate and good balancing acidity in the finish.
A good wine to be served with blue and soft ripening cheeses, hardy stews and bittersweet desserts.

Zinfandel
|
2004 Zinfandel Freiberg Vineyards
This is one of the most unique zinfandels that you will ever have the opportunity to taste. The reason for this phenomenon is that the fruit in this particular vineyard is affected ... more by boytritus, or the noble rot, that give the great Sauternes of France their character.
The resulting wine has an exquisite nose of honeyed melons and apricots followed by and explosion of ripe fruit on the palette and finished with a wonderful and concentrated acidity.
| |
Zinfandel
|
2003 Zinfandel P. Coturri Vineyards
The wine is characterized with deep color, a sweet dry mid palate and a great acid finish. It streamlined on the tongue, yet the mouth is full of berries, brambles and jam. Not for ... more those that like finesse or subtle wines, it’s flavor profile is "Full Speed ahead".
