Dry Creek Valley’s climate is ideal for growing classic Mediterranean red grape varieties. When farmed for quality, these varieties show our favorite attributes in wines from this appellation: expressive fruit, ripe tannins and balanced acidity. We employ modern techniques such as long pre-fermentation maceration, using open top tanks, a basket press, and aging our wines in only French oak barrels and foudre to highlight the aromatics and flavors derived from the vineyards. Dry Creek wines inspired by European counterparts.

2007 Rose
Dry Creek Valley

If you’ve been to the South of France you already know what this wine is all about. A floral and fruity nose leads to a rich and full-bodied wine that can handle a much wider va ... moreriety of foods than your average white wine. The Mourvedre, which did particularly well in 2007, really gives this wine a spicy, rich complexity, making it a great food wine.

2006 Barbera
Dry Creek Valley

Similar to our previous vintages, our 2006 Barbera possesses deep color, exotic fruit aromas, a juicy mouthfeel and solid acidity. The vintage gave us a more full-bodied version t ... morehan normal. It will remind you of drinking an exciting modern-style Barbera from Piemonte. The wine’s moderate tannin and vibrant acidity make it extremely versatile with food. Don’t let this wine make old bones! Drink now and over the next two years.

2006 Segromigno
Dry Creek Valley

Segromigno is a blend of 92% Sangiovese, 4% Syrah and 4% Barbera. We use the grapes grown on the east hillside and our recently grafted Sangiovese grosso vines. Both of these vin ... moreeyard sections give us a fruit forward wine that is not as structured as our west hillside vines. Syrah and Barbera come from our creekside vineyard, planted in 1998.

Our 2006 Segromigno really features the loveable side of Sangiovese. It is very aromatic, with bright cherry and dried herb flavors. It is a fruit forward, medium bodied red that will pair with a wide variety of foods. While this wine has the potential to age 2 or 3 years, why wait?

2006 Zinfandel
Dry Creek Valley

The ideal growing conditions in 2006 allowed us to make a full-bodied Zinfandel that is balanced with a long finish. It is the richest Zin we’ve ever made. Like any great Zinfa ... morendel vintage, this 2006 will show very well within 2 to 4 years from the vintage. Sure wish it was this easy to make this kind of Zinfandel every year.

2006 Grenache
Dry Creek Valley

If our 2005 Grenache resembles a Chateauneuf du Pape, this 2006 is more like a Gigondas – meaning it has higher tone fruit and pepper with bright acidity. It has intense aromati ... morecs of raspberry, blackberry, tar, pepper, licorice, and dried herbs. Though more fruit forward than the 2005, this Grenache has the stuff to last at least 3 to five years, but should really start showing well in two years. We really love making this wine.

2004 Syrah
Dry Creek Valley

This 2004 Syrah has me thinking of a cleaner more sophisticated version of our 1997 Syrah, which makes sense, since that was another early harvest. This full-bodied, dark Syrah ha ... mores a sweet core of blackberry/cassis fruit (classic 2004) along with our signature smoky, spicy complexity. It has excellent depth, richness and balance. The tannins in this wine will allow it to age for 5 to 7 years, though the lush fruit might convince you to eschew patience, and enjoy it much sooner. So be it.

2005 Grenache
Dry Creek Valley

Clearly our most concentrated, full-bodied and structured Grenache blend to date. It has intense aromatics of raspberry, blackberry, tar, pepper, licorice, and dried herbs. On th ... moree palate it has a juicy, silky texture with firm but entirely ripe tannins. This is, by far, my favorite wine we’ve ever made here at Unti. It has the stuff to last at least 5 to 7 years, but should really start showing its stuff in two years.

2005 Petite Frere
Dry Creek Valley

While our Petit Frere might lack the complexity and elegance of our Grenache bottling, it is a much fuller-bodied wine than your typical Cotes du Rhone. It has plenty of ripe, jamm ... morey fruit from the Grenache with smoky, meaty flavors coming from Mourvedre and Syrah. Think of this wine as a Dry Creek’s version of a Cotes du Rhone that has been on an aggressive weight lifting program.

By including our best lot of Sangiovese, we have made a Segromigno that is more complex and sophisticated than our previous renditions, which really becomes apparent when you taste ... more this wine a day after it is opened. As such, this wine should age nicely over the next 2 to 3 years...but don’t hold on to it for much longer.

Dry Creek Valley

I am proud to say this is one of the few California Rhone-style blends that will have you thinking of the Vaucluse (Southern Rhone). It has intense aromatics of raspberry, tar, pep ... moreper, dried herbs, with a silky, sexy texture on the palate. It is a skosh riper and lower in acid than our previous vintage. Is this my favorite Unti wine? Ya think? It should improve until September 24, 2007. After that, drink it as often as possible.

2004 Sangiovese
Dry Creek Valley

If you have to compare this wine to anything, it would be a modern-style (fruit forward) Brunello di Montalcino. Its deep color, complex cherry/chocolate and earth aromas are follo ... morewed by a big full-bodied wine. The wine shows a lush, round quality reflecting the ripe vintage. Try to keep from drinking it too soon. It should be fun watching this wine age gracefully over the next 3 to 5 years

2004 Segromigno
Dry Creek Valley

The 2004 vintage gave us very ripe flavors and slightly higher than normal acidity, due to some dehydration of the grapes. This resulted in a wine with jammy and spicy fruit with a ... more crisp finish thanks to the acidity. The low to moderate tannin level makes Segromigno a no-brainer for daily use at the table.

2004 Syrah Benchland
Dry Creek Valley

This Benchland Reserve is our most dramatic statement with Syrah. While the 2004 shows the riper side of Dry Creek Syrah, it still shows the vineyard character we have come to app ... morereciate from this site: dark color and full body along with blackberry, smoke and chocolate aromas/flavors. In 2004, dried grapes gave us more intense blackberry liqueur fruit and a lush texture on the palate. Though this wine is built to age 7 to 10 years, the ripe tannins will tempt you to drink it before then.
