2005 Riverstone Chardonnay
Central Coast California

The 2005 J. Lohr Estates Riverstone Chardonnay has an attractive, youthful, brassy yellow color. The fresh aromas of lime zest, nectarine, peach and apple combined with the perfum ... moreed vanilla and toasted oak bouquet from the barrel fermentation, malolactic fermentation and sur lie aging create an elegant Chardonnay from Monterey’s Arroyo Seco AVA. The flavors are very clean with peach, nectarine and citrus with subtle butter and vanilla toastiness, producing layers of complexity with an excellent balance of fresh fruit acidity and palate-weight. This wine is ideal for pairing with richly-textured fish and seafood or cream-sauced pasta dishes.

2002 Cabernet Sauvignon
Carol's Vineyard

Rich, dark red with youthful purple hues. The 2002 ‘Carols’ was a treat to ferment, giving up some of the most luscious varietal aromas of currant and dark cherry. One of the m ... moreost obvious traits to this wine is the beautiful dark purple colors that it gives up so easily during fermentation. The Petit Verdot adds dark tarry and licorice characters to the aroma and palate. The oak is chosen to highlight these primary fruit characters and complement the wine with vanilla and toasty secondary components. This wine is a treat to make and should be as equally pleasurable to drink in its youth and with 15-20 years of aging. This wine is ideally suited to red meats and pork, or tomato-based dishes.

2005 Cabernet Sauvignon
Seven Oaks

The 2005 J. Lohr Estates Seven Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the most intensely-colored Estates Cabernets we’ve produced during my tenure. The wine color has a deep, bright, ... morered-purple hue. An abundance of dark cherry and black currant fruit greets the nose, enhanced by spicy clove and toasty notes. On the palate, the fruit follows through with full weight and a lingering intensity and balance from the tannins. This wine is ready to be enjoyed now, or cellared for 5 years. Enjoy it with your favorite barbecued meats, tomato-based pastas like pasta all’amatriciana and chocolate decadence.

2003 Cuvée PAU
Paso Robles

The 2003 J. Lohr Cuvée PAU has a saturated red-purple color with excellent hues. The nose is very reminiscent of its Bordeaux namesake, with coffee and forest floor notes combined ... more with red currant and cherry fruit with hints of chocolate. The fruit is complemented with toasty and tarry French oak. The wine displays the full-bodied nature of Cabernet Sauvignon with rich currant fruit and mid to rear structure from both the fruit and the oak. On release, this wine will already have one year bottle age but will age well into the future. In its youth it should be enjoyed with a hearty steak, or as it ages, with beef tenderloin and rack of lamb. This wine should be allowed to breathe or decant prior to serving.
