Adler Fels Winery was founded in Sonoma Valley in 1979 by David and Ayn Coleman. The winery quickly established itself as a producer of award-winning Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer and Chardonnay from Sonoma County, especially Russian River Valley. Adler Fels later expanded its sourcing to include ultra-premium varietals from Napa Valley and other premier appellations throughout California.
Adler Fels is now owned by the Adams Wine Group, a collection of luxury wineries and wine-related businesses. We have sourced the grapes for our Gewürztraminer from the same vineyard in the Russian River Valley AVA for over twenty years. The gentle sloping terrain on the vineyards allow ... mores for good soil drainage and healthy vines that produce concentrated grapes with intense varietal character. We harvested the grapes for this wine on September 18 and 21, 2006.
Our 2006 Gewürztraminer exhibits the typical varietal aromas of rose petal and lychee. These floral, perfumed aromas are balanced with zesty tangerine peel and grapefruit on the nose. A long, slow fermentation in stainless steel tanks ensures that the wine retains these bright aromatics. A soft mouthfeel and balanced citrus flavors of lemon and grapefruit lead to a clean finish.
