The grape originated in France, in the regions of Bordeaux and the Loire Valley. Plantings in California, Australia, Chile and South Africa are also extensive, and Sauvignon Blanc is steadily increasing in popularity as white wine drinkers seek alternatives to Chardonnay. The grape can also be found in Italy and Eastern Europe.

Food Pairing: Pairs well with any shellfish, grilled or marinated white meat fishes and sushi. Fresh summer salads and vinaigrettes with shaved cheese are a nice afternoon repast with Sauvignon Blanc. Excellent with Mexican cuisine.

Palate in ...morecludes hints of honey, agave nectar, melon, fresh mowed hay, and refreshing citrus flavors (grapefruit, Lisbon lemon, Colima lime and tangerine). Light transparent straw color. Medium creamy finish. Nice companion to cheese and fresh mixed nuts (especially cashews and macadamias). Pairs beautifully with herb roasted chicken, cheese tortellini or a mix of sautéed vegetables. Enjoy!
