Syrah
|
2005 Syrah
The robust flavors of our Syrah make it a natural for hearty foods, like grilled steak, wild game or sausages. Mediterranean-style preparations that include lots of herbs, garlic a ... morend olive oil meld beautifully with the richly fruity, slightly smoky character. Geoff loves the Syrah with Colleen’s recipe for Wild Mixed Mushroom Fettuccine. "The rich, meaty flavor of the mushrooms brings out the earthy flavor in the wine. It's a perfect match. Plus, it's easy to make!" Santé!

Chardonnay
|
2005 Estate Chardonnay Carneros
Our Chardonnay ripened slowly in the cool, Carneros fog, intensifying the fruit and lending it our signature crisp finish. Geoff fermented about 40% of the wine in barrels for full ... moreness and complexity, and the balance at low temperatures in stainless steel for purity of fruit. By bringing the two together he created one wine that's both opulent and lively. Bright and nicely focused. Abundantly fragrant with distinctive and intense fruit. Loaded with spicy pineapple, rich guava, creamy vanilla, and crisp citrus. The lingering signature finish is the mark of several months of aging sur lies.

Sauvignon Blanc
|
2006 Lake County Sauvignon Blanc
Very mild days and cool nights followed the July heat wave, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and develop flavor intensity without accumulating too much sugar. Geoff prefers a fr ... moreesh, bracing vibrancy of style and it requires a watchful eye and careful timing to bring in grapes with full flavor maturity and the right balance of sugar to acid. He ferments the juice slowly, at low temperatures to bring out the fresh pear, zesty citrus and hint of grassiness. Light and vivacious on the palate, there’s no oak to mask the exotic lemongrass, crisp green apple, ripe melon and a lingering grapefruit finish.

Chenin Blanc
|
2006 Napa Valley Chenin Blanc Napa Valley
Geoff’s goal is to capture the essence of the fruit from the two acres of beautiful old vines in the eastern hills of the valley. He crushes and presses very gently to avoid extr ... moreacting any bitterness or astringency from the skins and seeds, and ferments the juice slowly, at low temperatures, to retain the exquisite fruity and floral flavors and an intriguing hint of honey. Seductively perfumed and fresh on the palate, there’s no oak to mask the fragrant honeysuckle, sweet Asian pear, fresh green apple and hint of spice. A crisp, citrus finish offsets the soft, subtle sweetness.

Zinfandel
|
2005 Napa Zinfandel Napa Valley
With its gentle tannins and forward fruit, our Zinfandel is versatile at the table and can take you from bruschetta appetizers all the way through a hearty main course. It's delici ... moreous with grilled sausages, steaks and swordfish. It's a perfect match for tomato-based sauces such as pasta dishes, pizza margherita or chicken cacciatore. The tasting room staff has declared Zin the definitive burger wine, an easy-going partner for the grilled meat and your favorite condiments. Geoff loves to make a snack of our recipe for Chicken Cranberry Spread on a piece of toasted home-made bread along with a glass of Zin. The sweet fruit and toasted nuts work beautifully with the lush strawberry and plum in the wine. Cheers!

Cabernet Sauvignon
|
2005 Napa Valley Cabernet Napa Valley
For the Napa Valley Cabernet, Geoff is looking for fruit-forward, mouth-filling flavor and round, supple tannins. "I really like the way this wine came into balance. The Cabernet f ... morerom the young vines on our estate gave us lots of bright, vibrant fruit character and then I blended in some Cab from our Howell Mountain vineyard for added depth and complexity." Geoff guided the wine through a warm fermentation to bring out the rich boysenberry, black cherry, blueberry and dark chocolate. Layers of ripe plum, sweet strawberry, vanilla spice and toasty oak linger on the palate, finishing with round, polished tannins.

Cabernet Sauvignon
|
2003 Howell Mountain Cabernet Howell Mountain
The small, jewel-like clusters yielded a majestic wine of great complexity and the Howell Mountain Cabernet is abundantly aromatic with rich, dark chocolate, sweet black cherry, to ... moreasty oak and a hint of earth. Layer upon layer of luscious cassis, blackberry and mocha coat the palate, finishing with subtle nuances of smoke and spice with firm, chewy tannins. Irresistible now, its depth and structure make it a great candidate to cellar for years to come.

Sparkling Wine
|
2004 Sparkling Rosé Napa Valley
Our Sparkling Rosé is made from 79% Chardonnay from the Carneros region and 21% Zinfandel from State Lane, here in Yountville. The wine was very briefly barrel aged for a touch of ... more richness, then carefully blended to reach the right balance of luscious fruit and elegant structure. Geoff describes it as “sparkling table wine”, recognizing its vinous, more full-bodied character than you’ll find in some sparkling wines.
Misty red in color, our Rosé is youthful and bright on the palate, nicely developed, with jazzy texture and plush beads of bubbles. A fresh strawberry bouquet, along with cherry, banana, guava, and honeysuckle delight the nose while subtle accents of lively strawberry, ruby grapefruit, cranberry, nutmeg and spice linger on the finish. Dry and fragrant with vibrant acidity.
