2006 Mojo Red

Husch has seen several generations of family over the years and now the fourth generation is toddling through the winery. At age 5 Morgan Joseph ('Mojo') isn't quite a full fledged ...more winemaker, but he is a favorite with tasting room staff and visitors.

Our goal with the wine has not changed. You can still expect a Cabernet Sauvignon based wine that is affordable and ready to drink tonight. With the 2006 vintage we blended Cabernet Sauvignon (71%) and Carignane (29%). Approach this wine with high expectations; despite the price this wine is hand crafted in small batches.

The 2006 vintage offers a deep garnet color. Aromas reminisce of black cherry and blackberry -- with a hint of tobacco and clove. The wine offers similar flavors, a nice structure, and a little smoke on the finish.

Mojo Red is meant to be enjoyed while young (it is served as the "house red" at many Mendocino County restaurants) and is an excellent affordable choice for a large gathering. Try it with grilled steaks, pasta, pizza or your favorite burger.

2003 Grand Oz

It was our Grandfather – “Grand Oz” - who introduced our family to grape-growing and wine. A longtime farmer, HA Oswald, Jr. grew some of Mendocino County’s best grapes at ...morethe family vineyard and produced some of the region’s finest wines. While every bottle of Husch carries his name we thought it fitting that this exclusive wine be named in his honor.

The inaugural vintage of Grand Oz is a Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah blend – using the best fruit from HA Oswald’s home ranch combined with the best barrels in the winery. With only two barrels produced (540 bottles) this wine was nurtured from vineyard to bottle with extreme pride and care. Each bottle of Grand Oz was hand numbered, wax sealed and signed by third generation family owners, Zac Robinson and Amanda Holstine.

Understated and refined, this vintage is true to character. The dark Cabernet Sauvignon fruit shows rich cassis flavors with hints of cedar and eucalyptus. The beautiful bright fruit of the Syrah also brings an element of leather and smoke. The lower alcohol (12.4%) of this vintage allows it to pair well with food as well as age gracefully in the bottle.

2004 Chaos Theory Cab/Zin Blend
Chiles Valley District

This wine is exciting from the moment it livens up your glass with brilliant ruby color and sapphire undertones. The fragrant nose has mocha java cocoa powder, toasted vanilla, and ...more rich dark fruit with a hint of lavender. Vigorous and long with great depth, this wine is densely layered with flavors of cassis, bittersweet chocolate shavings, blackberry fruit, burnt sugar, subtle cedar and a final zest of kumquat. This iconoclastic wine is forward and expressive, with an edgy newness. It blends the best of both worlds: the cabernet component is present in the structure and tannins and intense dark fruit, providing a dramatic frame for the exuberant, lush zinfandel component. The result is a vivacious yet seamlessly balanced wine that delivers a unique palate experience.
