In the glass, Papou glows with a crisp, pale straw color, with a floral rose based aroma bought out by the viognier. Surrounding the mouth, it begins with hints of marmalade jam & tropical fruits on the front , finished with lingering contrasts of melon, apricot, candied ginger & white pepper. Aged on Sur Lie for 10 months with 20% new oak, "Grandfather" will hold his own, just like John.

Rising up to the podium built by its 2005 brothers, this blend of both the "Jours De Bonheur" & "Le Bellier" is a pinot released when she was ready. Aged for 17 months in 50% new ... morefrench oak, comprising of the 114,115, 777 & Pommard clones, this is a well sculptured Pinot from the Sta Rita Hills. A deep garnet color in the glass, the wine is brimming with fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries, and blueberries along with a pretty cherry-cola scented nuttiness. The wine surrounds the mouth with a rich, lingering fruit core backed by subtle Asian spices and gentle tones of cedar and vanilla. The finish is long, with echoes of kirsch and blue-skinned plum followed by a refreshing acidity. Familiarize with now or lay down for years to come.
