Pinot Grigio
|
2006 Pinot Grigio, Laetitia Vineyard Arroyo Grande
This wine is the essence of the variety: brilliant, crisp, very clean on the palate, definitely a cool climate pinot gris. Notes of citrus and melon abound with excellent acidity a ... morend a long concentrated finish. Flavors mineral and alpine wild flowers lead to a rich band of honeydew, grapefruit, and a touch of tangerine. Lively and long, a great wine for a warm sunny day and a plate of oysters on the coast.

2006 Chardonnay Edna Valley
It is seamless on the palate with hints of mango and pineapple. The rich texture and body are amplified by the inclusion of new French Oak, which adds a spicy balanced finish.

Pinot Noir

2005 Pinot Noir Arroyo Grande
Aromas of crushed Rose petal and sweet oak lead to a palate of ripe, concentrated dark berry. Black Cherry, Black Raspberry, maybe even a hint of plum all come through and linger ... moreimpressively. The wine is rich and deep, yet supple, finishing with hints of spice and vanilla. A masculine wine that will pair beautifully with grilled wild salmon or roast pheasant. It is also a great wine to drink with a pepperoni pizza!

Pinot Noir

2005 Dionysus Arroyo Grande
This wine is exceptional on a number of levels. A study not only in cool climate Pinot Noir, but in the potential of this site. Its cool climate rearing is seen in the concentratio ... moren of dark fruit - black cherry, blackberry and plum evident in the nose and on the palate. With these flavors at its heart, the wine shows layers of spicy mocha, rose petal and a rich supple texture. The characteristics of the clones come forward in its earthy richness and its silky texture. It is at once intense and seductive, offering a firm structure along with a lingering finish that begs for exploration. Deep dark and rich, it is great now or will cellar for some years to come.
