Naumann Estate Vineyards is located 2,000 feet atop Montebello Road in Santa Clara Valley overlooking Silicon Valley. Grown on an eastern facing slope, all of the Naumann Vineyard grapes awaken each morning to the first sunlight and are put to bed each night by a cool gentle breeze. This helps to keep the fruit from maturing too early.
We have two Merlot Vineyards. The lower vineyards, planted in 1994, is one and a half acres on a gentle twenty degree slope. The upper vineyards, planted in 1997, is a one acre parcel on a fourty degree slope. It is much more rocky and yields half of the amount of fruit per plant. Both vineyards receive no irrigation during the growing season. All these stresses - the terrain, the climate, and the irrigation - as well as hand nurturing, add to the flavors of this intense fruit. | Cupertino, CA Phone: 408-867-7871 Website: http://www.naumannvineyards.com Appellation: Santa Cruz Mountains Tasting Room: As a member of the Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers' Association, Naumann Estate Vineyards is open to the public on Passport Tasting Days and by special tasting appointment only.
