2018 visitors

The Midlife Crisis Winery was founded in 2004 as the fulfillment of a crazy dream of Kevin and Jill Mittan to become winemakers in Paso Robles while continuing to work day jobs in Los Angeles. The Midlife Crisis Winery offers an eclectic mix of Italian, Rhone and Bordeaux varietals and sparkling wines to pair with food or enjoy by the glass. The fruit is sourced from vineyards located on both the west and east side of Paso Robles and is chosen to represent essence of each varietal. The wines are made at a cooperative facility in Paso while the Mittans work on plans for a winery, tasting room, vineyards and gardens just off Route 46 E. The MLC tasting room is currently located in downtown Paso. See – the winery was well named – visit us - share the crisis and the dream.

2005 Pinot Grigio
Paso Robles

The fruit for this wine comes from a single west side Paso Robles vineyard. When we first tasted the fruit at crush, we decided to try a different presentation than is normal for t ... morehis varietal. Instead of cold settling and aging in stainless steel, we decided to ferment and age in oak. Two yeasts were used in combination and were chosen to highlight the stone fruit and tropical aromas and a full mouth feel. After crush and press, the wine was barrel fermented and underwent partial malolactic fermentation. It was aged over nine months in oak before bottling.
