At Kamen Estate we show the utmost respect for our land and environment by fully embracing organic farming. While we utilize the best that science and technology can offer, we also believe in intuition. Attention to detail, nurturing low yields and maintaining a ruthless stance with regard to quality are all part of the mantra. The careful harvesting of fully mature fruit and very gentle pressing and handling of the juice form the cornerstone of our winemaking practices. Our winemaking philosophy is quite simple: ripe fruit, low yields, and high quality. Quality. Quality. Quality. | Sonoma, CA Phone: (707) 933-1700 Website: http://www.kamenwines.com Appellation: Sonoma Valley Tasting Room: By Appointment only |

2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma Valley
The 2004 Kamen Cabernet Sauvignon showcases the unique terroir found in the highest western hills of the Mayacamas Range in Sonoma County. This wine has lovely foward aromas of cru ... moreshed flower petals, licorice, black cherry, blueberry, and hints of allspice, mocha and Bosc pear. Lively on the palate the flavors are an extraction of blackberries, roasted stone fruits, blueberries, pomegranate and lavender. With a weighty mid-palate and great blance, this Cabernet Sauvignon has a big mouth coating, long finish of dark fruits, tobacco and mocha with well-intergrated oak tannins. While the focus is on the extraction and power of the fruit from this site, the wine speaks more of its embodiments of finesse and balance. | |
