Mahoney Vineyards Albariño |
2007 Albarino Carneros
It is possible you have never heard of this varietal, as it is still relatively unknown in California. If, however, you have travelled to the Northwest corner of Spain you likely saw vineyards clinging to steep hillsides above coastal fishing villages. If you ordered a local white wine to wash down your seafood there, you almost certainly were served Albariño.
At Mahoney Vineyards, we strive to produce wines that both showcase our unique vineyards and remind us of their Old-World heritage. This is such a wine. Grown within sight of San Francisco Bay, we share the cool, coastal influences that allow flavor development and preserve acidity in Spanish Albariño, while our climate gives us a richness in the palate as well. |
