Stonehouse Vineyards & Winery Cabernet Sauvignon |
2003 Cabernet Sauvignon El Dorado County
This fine wine originated at the Shultz Family Vineyards, where premium grapes are cultivated in three blocks named after the Shultz children: Matthew, Morgan, and Mikayla. Nestled in the Sierra Foothills, the long, warm days and cool nights are ideal for growing Cabernet Sauvignon. Time-honored practices are combined with the latest research to grow some of California’s most beautiful vines. Carefully managed by hand, the vine canopy grows luscious little berries that are harvested at the peak of ripeness to yield focused, intense flavor. The fruit is then crafted into premium wines at Stonehouse Vineyards & Winery.
With the Cabernet Sauvignons becoming our flagship wines, this 2001 Cab explains itself. True to the varietal and reputation of Cab, this massively elegant wine has flavors of cherry and cassis, and black currant that seems to fight for the palate ’s attention. Scents of dill, sage, and sweet tobacco excite the senses while exhibiting a bold mouthfeel backed by firm, yet refined, tannins and perfectly balanced acidity. Ending with flavors of oak and vanilla, this Cab has it all. |
