Cass Winery Grenache |
2005 Grenache Paso Robles
Grenache is always blended with another grape because the tannins in Grenache are naturally very low. Consequently, Grenache all by itself does not age well. You will often find it blended with Syrah and/or Mourvèdre. We were very happy with the nose and the flavors of the Grenache, so we tried blending it with a minimal amount of Mourvèdre to add spice and backbone to the Grenache. Think of it as a hearty Pinot, with lots of strawberry notes. |
