2004 Phenomenon
St. Helena
Phenomenon embodies the pinnacle of winemaking at Benessere. It is produced only in quantities commensurate with our highest expectations. As such, we feel that Phenomenon is a wine that is age-worthy and substantial enough to pair with hearty dishes as well as elegant fare. This wine has aromas and flavors of dark, ripe cherries and plums, with notes of creamy and toasty oak, and a hint of vanilla. It is perfect to share with friends and family and to toast all joyous occasions. It will age well for the next decade or more.
This is the fifth release of our “Super-Napan” estate blend called “Phenomenon”. The blending of Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Merlot and Syrah is a relatively new “phenomenon” for California. As such, we think it is fitting to name our wine after this occurrence. It is also patterned after some of the “Super-Tuscan” wines of Italy; wines which have crossed the boundaries of regulations and tradition, utilizing superior grape clones and artisan blending to make the best wine possible.
