Dutton Goldfield Pinot Blanc |
2006 Pinot Blanc Shop Block, Russian River Valley
When Steve said he had a couple of rows of Pinot Blanc at the main Dutton Ranch Shop available last year, we couldn't resist the opportunity to make this wine. Pinot Blanc, the white grape cousin of Pinot Noir, is a natural choice for the cold valley site at the original home ranch. The classic Green Valley conditions of cold, foggy nights and sunny days enhances the varietal's aromatics, bright acidity and cleansing minerality. Our 2006 Pinot Blanc is crisp and fresh, with juicy apricot and peach aromas and steely just-picked apple flavors. It's a racy, bright wine, cool and refreshing for sipping on a hot summer afternoon or evening. We made just 112 cases from this small block. |
