Indian Rock Vineyards Merlot |
2005 Merlot Calaveras County
Once an American favorite, Merlot has lost some of its appeal in recent years due to over cropping and slipshod winemaking. However, it's past popularity and continued use throughout the world attests to its potential to make outstanding, well balanced wine. In our vineyard we have planted Merlot on the rockiest, best drained section of the property, where the vines work hard to produce small berries with thick skins and very low yields. Our 2005 Merlot is a rich, potent wine, loaded with ripe cherry and black olive aromas and extremely broad and velvety on the palate. It's a great companion to casual fare, including pizza, lamb stew, hamburgers and chops |
