2002 Cabernet Sauvignon

Though we no longer vineyard designate our Oakville source, this vineyard lies just south of the Oakville Crossroad next to Highway 29, with just enough pebbles in the soil to turn the site favorable for Cabernet Sauvignon. 2002 is our second version from this vineyard, with impressive results. While its predecessor, the 2001 Stanton Cab, was classically firm with layers of fruit, this vintage is more concentrated at the core, darker flavors, and saturated tannins. A stunning wine that will turn heads!
Aromas of cherry liqueur, crème-de-cassis, well-integrated oak, some vanilla bean, cocoa. Well-structured mouth feel, a trace of dust, loaded with dark fruit, rich chocolate, and a very long finish.
