2004 Roussanne
Very ripe and slightly pungent now showing a fascinating combination of honeyed, heavy tropical fruit like over-ripe papaya and strong herbal/vegetal notes. Very rich, made in an old-fashioned oxidative style, which will reward long aging. Low acidity which makes it appear richer and more concentrated than some of the previous vintages. The merest hint of vanilla – taste of rhubarb and tropical fruit, with nicely rounded oak and a herbal spicey side.
