2000 Merlot
This is not your typical middle of the road California Merlot. What awaits you in the bottle is a full throttle, intense, rustic rendition of this gentle-hearted, easy-going varietal. Dark color; intense nose of ripe black fruits (plum/cherry), grilled meat, oriental spices and herbs. Medium full-bodied, with open knit, juicy, vibrant character. Rich fruit and powerful flavors are matched by a muscular structure and a long crisp finish. Have it with a rack of lamb or a roasted venison. Will improve for a decade or two in the bottle.
79% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Franc. Yield: 1.8 tons per acre
