| The Rockledge vineyard is part of a hillside bench on the Eastern slopes of the Napa Valley above the town of St. Helena. We are blessed with a uniform soil depth of approximately three feet, slopes averaging 14% for good drainage, and a southwest exposure giving us a great view of the valley floor below and the sunlight to optimize the ripening of our fruit. However, our extremely rocky soil is the most striking feature of the vineyard and responsible for stressing the vines to yield smaller berries. Stressed vines, producing small berries, have become a key focus in high end viticulture due to the concentrated wines they produce. We have named our flagship reserve Cabernet Sauvignon “The Rocks” as a testament to these precious rocks and the effect they have on our wines. | St. Helena, CA
