Bradford Mountain Winery

There is a detectable mountain influence in these wines, while at the same time a tempering from the ocean, permitted by the site's elevation. The soil is red, volcanic, and rugged, and the growing season unusually long here. While Bradford Mountain frequently becomes its own weather-station, often hosting weather patterns very different from those on the valley floor, it has enough inherent Dry Creek-ness to give Zinfandel, Syrah and Cabernet the mark of this renowned appellation: sweet herbs, tar, and aromatic, oriental-like spice.

2004 Syrah

Nestled in the hills of the Dry Creek Valley, our Grist Vineyard has long been known to produce robust powerful wines, and our Syrah is no exception. Classic Syrah characteristics ... moreof blackberry, plum and smoke are complemented by the distinctly Grist Vineyard qualities of bright red cherry fruit to produce a wine that is slender yet firm in structure- lush to the finish.

"Christopher’s Cabernet Sauvignon comes from block 82, which at 2,400 feet, is the highest elevation block on the estate. Its meager, rocky soils coupled with maritime breezes, ample sunshine and the inversions layer’s magic touch result in a complex spice profile (juniper, star anise) and savory pl ...
