San Pasqual Winery Grenache |
2002 Garnacha Grenache Reserve
This is one of our specialty niche wines that is hard to find anywhere else. Grenache is typically a light, fruity wine used for blending. It can be similar to Pinot Noir in flavor and texture, though the color is a lighter red. However, the grenache out of our source vineyard in 2002 showed a very distinct warm spice that we thought should come forward on its own. We kept it in oak an extra year to beef up the tannins. A lot of warm spice (e.g. cloves/cinnamon) come through on this unique vintage. Grapes grown in Guadalupe Valley, Baja California, wine made in Escondido. |
