Chalk Hill Estate Winery Merlot |
1999 Adele’s Vineyard Merlot Chalk Hill
The 1999 Adele’s Vineyard Merlot harmonized in barrel for twenty months; aging occurred in French oak (85% new) from the very best coopers. Bottling happened without fining or filtration, a practice consistent with Chalk Hill Estate’s winemaking philosophies. The 1999 Adele’s Vineyard Merlot exhibits an opaque purple color along with pure, intense aromas of black currant, mocha, and spice, with hints of lavender. The opulent, full-bodied texture is layered with rich flavors of blackberries, cassis and earth. 479 cases produced. |

ReviewsRating: 82 A little "hot" for me for a merlot but for $14.99 (aug 20, 2009 grocery outlet auburn ca,) and a special occasion (birthday, we couldn't resist buying a $100 bottle of wine (or $46 to
170 retail). Alcohol 14.9% bottle # 1794. Cork in EXCEPTIONAL shape! Next try the 2000 cab and 2001 merlot. The chard was great. Pairs well with beef etc Reviewed by: wine dog |
