2001 Dreaming Detective
The Dreaming Detective is pure Syrah - 90% is from the Thompson Vineyard in Santa Barbara County and 10% comes from San Marcos. This is our, uh, “big gun” of 2001. It’s the last wine of that vintage that went into our 40% new Haut Brion barrels and the last wine to be bottled. The story of this wine is that despite its size (15% alcohol) there is so much fruit and such perfect balance that it seems almost refined.
