Red Car Wine Co. Syrah |
2002 The Table
The fruit is from the Thompson Vineyard, planted in the late 80’s near the tiny town of Los Alamos in Santa Barbara County. Thompson is a very cool site ripening last of all our vineyards. The wine is opaque in the center, flashing blue-red at the rim. The nose offers a ton of blueberries, a hint of raspberry, violets and what some people call an iodine or sea shell-like like character. There is a huge mouthful of fruit here, but considerable structure, or “cut”. The tannins are firm but rounded. Thompson makes long lived wines. |
