2003 Some Like It Red
The 2003 Some Like It Red is comprised of four neutral barrels of Syrah from seven year old vines in block two of the Thompson Vineyard near Santa Barbara and one barrel of Pinot in a new Francois Freres barrel from Keefer Ranch in the Green Valley.
The wine has a deep crimson color with rose at the rim. The initial aromatics suggest bilberry, raspberry, then cranberry and a savory, meaty Syrah note that makes your mouth water. The palate impression is deep, sweet and long. We recommend an hour’s worth of decanting. Try it at your table with grilled meats.
