2003 Syrah, The Fight

The 2003 The Fight is almost exclusively from the Richard Perry Vineyard in the Coombsville area of Napa County. This site always gives raw steak, plum and red licorice flavors. This year we also blended in a dash of wine from the old vines section of the Thompson Vineyard (Santa Barbara County), which interlaced the Perry flavors with the essence of soy and iodine. Interestingly, both vineyards are planted with the Estrella clone. Thompson is even own-rooted. It was raised in 100% new French oak for 14 months, bottled by gravity, unfined and unfiltered.
