The 2004 harvest was one of the earliest I can remember. A heat wave in early March forced budbreak and high temperatures continued throughout the summer. A hot spell in late August gave sugar levels a boost and we were ready to pick by September 10th. Despite the early harvest, fruit quality was great with plump berries and ripe flavors that have resulted in a very sexy, full-bodied wine with deep color and complex flavors.
