Deep black-violet in color, with wild, briar-patch and new leather aromas. Ripe blackberry jam, cassis, molasses, and dried orange peel on the palate, with a richness and balance that are impressive in such a massive wine. Decanting or aging will help to tease out the more delicate aromas. Will pair nicely with roast lamb, marinated pork ribs, or tri-tip.
