Russian River Valley, Salzgeber Vineyard
We are pleased to be working with this eleven year old vineyard from the truest sense of the appellation, just a quarter mile from the Russian River. The vineyard is situated midway between the cooler environs of Forestville to the south and the warmer Healdsburg to the north. It is a welcomed first opportunity to work with clone # 115. The nose offers cherries and chocolate. On the palate of this thick viscous wine are flavors of concentrated black cherry and black plum with mild oak notes. Integrated tannins coupled with ample acidity provide a moderate structure to this fruit first wine. Pairs well with hearty dishes.
