De Loach Vineyards Pinot Noir |
2006 Masut Vineyard Pinot Noir Redwood Valley
Nestled in the Redwood Valley, the hillside of Masút Vineyard teems with life: grazing sheep, buzzing bees, and roaming chickens add to the land’s natural vibrancy. Planted in 1996 according to biodynamic practices, this vineyard is tended to by renowned pioneers of biodynamic farming – Jacob Fetzer and his family. The result of our shared commitment is grapes of the highest quality and varietal expression.
A Pinot Noir of surprising depth and complexity, it begins with opening notes of ripe strawberries intermingled with hints of flint and bee pollen, with a powerful base note of a black cherry reduction. The subtle entry on to the palate builds with intensity as flavors of strawberry-rhubarb pavlova are lifted and framed by the fine-grained tannins and subtle charm of cocoa and toasted caramel. Try it as an elegant aperitif paired with hors d'oeuvres, or with Bacon-Wrapped Pork Tenderloin with Apple-Cranberry Chutney. |
