De Loach Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc |
2006 Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc Russian River Valley
Our Sauvignon Blanc grapes were hand harvested from September 25, 2006. The juice was fermented and aged in a combination of 30% neutral French oak barrels and 70% stainless steel tanks. After primary fermentation, about 25% of the wine underwent malolactic fermentation, lending a unique creaminess and full mouthfeel to a classically lean wine.
The 2006 Sauvignon Blanc offers a pungent nose of ripe tropical fruits overlaying fresh cut grass, honeydew melon and zesty lemon. The nicely weighted and textured palate explodes with fruit and leads into a lengthy finish of meyer lemon and lime. This is a powerful yet balanced and refreshing wine. |
