Job Description: Seeking Qualified Enologist/Winemaking Apprentice:
A family owned winery nestled in the lovely Poconos is offering a winemaking apprenticeship position to a qualified candidate beginning in January 2009. The candidate should have at least two years prior experience working in a winery, or a degree in Enology or Viticulture (we will also accept equivalency in a closely related field). We are looking for someone who effectively knows how to handle wine making equipment and machinery, posses knowledge of grape growth and patterns in cool climates, and have some familiarity with the business and manufacturing aspects of the winemaking industry.
This position offers a great opportunity within the company, as well as the chance for promotion and long-term job growth. We would like to see a candidate who has a passion and dedication for making wine, and sees their future in this industry. The new hire will train initially with our winemaker, until we deem them qualified enough to handle operations individually.
This job requires not only someone who is experienced and motivated, but also someone who wishes to gain an extended family. Going on thirty years of a family-owned and operated business, we are looking to hire a person that we believe will fit in with our values and help us pursue our dreams. We want someone who desires to make a difference and finds themselves constantly looking to change, improve, and achieve goals.
Qualifications: 2 years experience in the industry, or equivalent degree in either enology or viticulture.
