Diageo is looking to hire a winetracker to work at Sterling Vineyard.
This position will audit and record in the Bulk Wine System (WiPS) all transactions relating to bulk wine inventory processing; provide relevant monthly reporting on physical movements and associated costs on bulk wine. Provide relevant reporting for finance, winemakers and wine growing to enable them to effectively plan winemaking; bulk sales, purchases, and grape contracting activity.
Covers the following facilities:
- Sterling Vineyards
- Offsite storage (3rd party facilities) of Sterling Vineyards
This role will work in conjunction with these departments:
- Winemaking & Winegrowing staff
- Finance
- Cellar, lab & production
- Co Processor Compliance
Management Responsibility:
- All Wine trackers work with seasonal workers during crush and provide some managerial oversight and direction.
Decision:
- Must be able to manage seasonally heavy data entry workload (Harvest) and supervise temporary/seasonal Harvest workers as determined necessary for workload completion.
- Determine whether work orders received from Cellar comply with standards relative to winemaking and government compliance. If not, must be able to communicate effectively with Compliance, Winemaking staff and/or authorities.
Key Outputs/Deliverables:
Review, audit, calculate records, and report transactions reflecting the physical product movements and associated costs for Diageo Chateau & Estate owned bulk wine, produced and stored at various California locations. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies found on transaction records, which are provided by processing plants. Enter data in the WiPs bulk wine tracking system.
Be familiar with federal and state regulations concerning the production of wine, required record keeping, allowable cellar activities, labeling requirements to ensure our activities and record keeping reflect compliance.
Qualifications:
Experience:
-Experience in winery operations bulk processing or winetracking needed
-General compliance knowledge
-WiPS (Wine Production System) experience a plus
-Strong Math aptitude and skills
-Strong data entry and keyboard skills
-Good organizational and multi-task skills
-Good verbal and written communication skills
- Associates degree preferred or two plus years winery cellar record keeping or bookkeeping or combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to work overtime hours, particularly during crush on weekdays and weekends as necessary
