Tempranillo
Event Date:
Start Date: Tuesday, 3-27-2007

End Date: 03-27-2007

Time: 7pm

Cost: $20.00

Location:
1389 Lincoln Ave.
San Jose, CA95125
Details: If you have tasted Rioja, you have sampled the pleasures of the Tempranillo grape - "Spainís answer to Cabernet Sauvignon". It is used to make full bodied wines of elegance and mouth watering flavors, that are age worthy as well as delicious when young. $20 For those of you unfamiliar with how a blind tasting works, let me give you a quick primer. At each tasting we will feature a single varietal. (for example: Zinfandel). The Grapevine will select 5 wines of that varietal for the tasting. The wines will be placed in bags so you will not know the producers of the wines you are trying. The wines are poured into your 5 glasses and then you taste, swirling and sniffing and sampling over the next hour. You can take notes and choose your favorites if you like. At the end of the tasting, we will discuss the wines and then unveil them. The event usually takes about 1-1/2 hours. Each tasting is limited to 10 people. You can come to one or come to them all, just pick the ones that interest you most.
