Job Description:
Job Purpose:
Build strong relationships with novice and experienced still and sparkling wine drinkers.
Responsibilities:
* Expert on store wines.
* Knows, researches, and suggests food and wine combinations.
* Provide superior customer service and informed sales recommendations
* Welcomes customers by greeting them; Learn customers first names.
* Directs customers by escorting them to racks based on their desired varietal.
* Advises customers by providing information on products.
* Takes the initiative to learn about new products.
* Helps customer make selections by building customer confidence; offering suggestions and opinions.
* Processes payments by totaling purchases; processing cash and credit cards.
* Keeps customers informed of sales and future products of potential interest.
* Articulates product descriptions in varying terms that appeal to both novice and experienced wine drinkers.
* Gift wraps bottles and baskets.
* Must be a self-starter, as well as a strong team player.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
* Must be able to spend 10 hours/day on your feet and be able to lift 40lbs repeatedly.
* Perform store opening and closing procedures.
* 15 - 20 hours per week. Weekends and special events required.
Qualifications:
Sill and Sparkling Wine Retail Experience, Still and Sparkling Wine Knowledge, Listening, Customer Service, Selling to Customer Needs, People Skills, Energy Level, Dependability, General Math Skills, Verbal Communication, and General Computer Skills. Proficient in Microsoft Windows, as well as Word and Excel. Proficient with web browser and email applications.
