In addition, we are expanding our franchise by moving into the storage and handling of wines at our newly-constructed Hayes Wine Cellar.
Cirker Hayes is seeking a Wine Storage Sales & Operations Manager to join its New York City team. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, highly experienced professional who is an expert in all aspects of the storage of fine wine and has proven ability to sell wine storage space in the Hayes Wine Cellar.
Job Description
TITLE: Wine Storage Sales & Operations Manager
REPORTS TO: SVP, General Manager
BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:
10+ year minimum experience
Seasoned, skilled expert in all aspects of wine storage, transportation, operations & storage sales
Well known, respected, & proven credibility in the NYC wine industry
MS (Master Sommelier) or MW (Master of Wine) accreditations preferred
Solid understanding, respect, appreciation, & dedication of fine wine
Comprehensive knowledge & enthusiasm for fine wine
Must posses high integrity & be highly trustworthy
Must have proven ability to work with affiliate clients & maintain confidentiality at all times
Ability to provide accurate, competitive, wine storage/transportation/service quotes
Skilled in accident prevention techniques
Technology/bar code inventory system management a plus
Bachelors degree or comparable experience
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Responsibilities:
Day to day management of cellar including inventory management, inventory check-in/checkout processes, cabinet rentals, etc.
Monitor & maintain all aspects of the cellar including temperature control, humidity control, etc
Perform storage software client & inventory database management
Manage on-line client inventory software portals & service requests
Perform physical inventory audits & ensure appropriate bar code labeling
Calculate occupancy, vacancy, & other executive management reports
Interface with Registrars & Operations Specialists for new account creation & service scheduling
Interface with Warehouse Manager for wine transportation & checkin/checkout
Enforce exceptional customer service & confidentiality standards to affluent clients
Occupancy/Sales Responsibilities:
Responsible for prospecting & obtaining wine storage clients
Achieve 100% wine storage occupancy goal
Prospecting opportunities will include top restaurants, hotels, collectors, investors, & retailers
Hold on-site wine tasting events & prospect for attendees
Attend wine events to prospect for new clients & spread knowledge of the Hayes wine cellar & services
Retain & service clients; provide excellent customer service
Hold wine education training classes for art storage sales & operations team
Maintain sales pipeline & provide metric based reporting on sales activities
