2006 Syrah

Opaque, dark purple, with perfumed aromas of spice, sage & toasty oak make this Syrah a "beauty". In the mouth, flavors of blueberries and raspberries meld together seamlessly. 2005 Iowa Hill Red
California

A new release from WAV, Iowa Hill is a unique blend of grapes grown at the Amorosa Estate in Lodi.

Raspberry, blueberry and spice abound from the glass. Moderate bodie ...mored and supple in finish this is a great wine to enjoy with any spring and summer fare. It is a great wine before, during and after the meat comes off the barbeque.

2005 Old Vine Zinfandel
Lodi

We are extremely pleased to announce the release of our “Old Vine Zinfandel”. The vines for this luscious wine were planted in 1944 to the east of Lodi. Being during the war ye ...morears, these vineyards were all planted by ladies working long hours in the vineyards. Fermented in small lots, the new wine was racked to two single fill Limousin barrels. These are the barrels used for our 03 Reserve Cab. The roundness of the wood adds to the ripe silky texture of the wine. Raspberry, blueberry and chocolate abound from the glass. Full bodied and luxurious through to the finish this is a great wine to enjoy at any time you please. I expect this wine to age gracefully for 3 to 5 years.

2005 Redbird Canyon Red
California

After last years resounding success, our Redbird Canyon Red is again a unique blend of Pinotage and Petite Sirah. All are grown on the estate of Vino Con Brio at the Amorosa Vineya ...morerd.

Pinotage is a grape developed in South Africa in the 1920’s. A cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault (aka Hermitage) it was an effort to bring the characteristics of Pinot Noir to a variety that could be grown in a warmer climate. Rarely grown outside of South Africa the variety has remained in some obscurity. Vino Con Brio has the largest planting of Pinotage outside of South Africa at mere 8 acres.

From the first enticing aromas you can tell that this is not Cab or Merlot or any other familiar variety. Exotic spice (allspice and cinnamon), black pepper and hints of chocolate provide an entrance to the full jammy flavors. Rich and full-bodied the wine is very supple and finishes with lingering blackberry and sweet oak. Tasting great right now this wine will add to any rich cuisine, wild game or BBQ fare and should be age gracefully for another three years.

2005 Port
Amador County

Our 2005 Port shows the complex aromas and smooth textures that have become that
benchmark of California Ports. Abundant aromas of spice, blueberries, orange peel,
pl ...moreums and chocolate all interplay. The rich texture carries the flavors to a long lingering
finish. While Tim Spencer liked to pair his ports with frozen Snickers bars, I think that
you should enjoy Wofford Acres Port anyway you please.

2004 Cabernet Sauvignon
Napa Valley

This delicious Cabernet Sauvignon strikes an elegant balance between voluptuous dark fruit components and soft, plush tannins. On the palate, the wine offers concentrated flavors o ...moref ripe Bing cherry and dark chocolate that stay present through a long, satisfying finish. Though this wine is already lush and approachable early in it’s development, it should continue to age well for 6 to 10 years.

2005 The Mask
Napa Valley

While some wines are crafted to be savored and cellared, others embody a more easy-going charm. Reflecting our desire to create a red wine filled with rich, fruit character at an a ...morepproachable price, we are pleased to unveil The Mask—a second label wine using great Napa Valley grapes.

The 2005 growing season was a winemaker’s dream—delivering big crops of amazing fruit. In fact, in anticipation of the “bumper’ 2005 yields, we dropped large amounts of grapes to create added-depth and concentration in our Cabernet Sauvignon. Even so, we found ourselves with more fruit than we needed to craft the small-lot, 500-case bottling of our Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon—a wonderful dilemma to have. Inspired by this abundance of top fruit, we took a playful detour in our winemaking journey, to create a vibrant red that’s just plain fun to drink.

Blending a bit of whimsy and adventure, The Mask brings together a selection of our 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, with some tasty up-valley Zinfandel, and a touch of Syrah. Wrapped around a Cabernet core, the Zinfandel adds sweet fruit notes, while the Syrah brings a hint of RhĂ´ne-inspired structure and richness. The fateful result is a

2007 Dry Rosé
Napa Valley

This classic Rosé is produced in the traditional French saignée method, in which some of the juice of the red varietals is drawn away from the grape skins relatively quickly, pic ...moreking up a moderate amount of pigment and very little tannin. While the juice that remains on the skins will become a deeper, richer red wine, what has been siphoned off is fermented to near dryness at low temperatures in anaerobic stainless steel tanks, retaining the fresh fruit character of the varietals in a crisp, thirst quenching package.
Much like the refreshing, dry, Cabernet Franc based rosés of Anjou, France, this wine offers an enticing pale pink to salmon color, aromas of summer fruits (strawberry & melon) and a crisp, clean entry. The flavors encompass the fruit bowl, including raspberry and cherry with a touch of the Syrah spice component.

Served with the grilled Salmon on the patio or just as a Summer quaff all by itself, this delicious Rosé will be a revelation to those that still think pink inherently means sweet!

2006 Pinot Noir, Stiling Vineyard
Russian River Valley

Dark ruby in color with a bright raspberry nose and a hint of forest floor — did I actually write that? — sorry, but sometimes it’s hard to find the proper words: an elusive ...morecombination of pine needles, faint eucalyptus, dry leaves, moist earth. . . I hope that’s a smidge more helpful. All followed by fresh and lively strawberry, cola nut and touch of nutmeg on the palate with moderate tannins and good acidity to see them through to the lingering finish.

Displays the expressive fruit reminiscent of our ’04 Stiling combined with the elegance and greater restraint of the ’05.

2006 Pinot Noir, Windsor Oaks Vineyard
Russian River Valley

Our first vintage working with four separate blocks from a site that already shows us its potential to be outstanding. At first sniff, pomegranate, rose petals and cherries rise up ...more to greet you. Then an epicurean sip unveils ripe red cherry, plumb and fig wrapped in a velvet mouthfeel with a hint of tea leaves on the finish. A lighter ruby-hued, medium-bodied wine showcasing the silky elegance of a classic Pinot. We look forward to getting to know this vineyard and to crafting wines from their fruit for many years to come.

2006 Chardonnay
Russian River Valley

A slightly richer gold in hue than its Sonoma Coast sibling, this one is more of a showboat right off the dock. Exotic floral aromas mingle with scents of ripe pear and baking spic ...morees that lure you in to discover more pear, apricot, honeydew melon and butterscotch on the palate. A broad and expansive finish leads us to believe it will be ready for its maiden voyage soon enough. That said, we humbly suggest giving it a couple extra months rest in the bottle before setting sail.

While crisp acidity ensures it will be an excellent companion to food, this Chardonnay should also lend itself to solo sipping and evolve into a genuine pool-side pleasure come summertime.

2006 Chardonnay
Sonoma Coast

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day? No, let's not. More like a crisp fall day with blue skies, bright sunshine and an invigorating chill in the air. Light golden straw in color ...more, with a clear almost green tinge at the edges, this youngster leads with a nose of pure citrus and minerality followed by a palate of lemon, lime, tart Granny Smith apple and pineapple, with hints of peach and just a touch of vanilla custard. All backed by mouth-watering acidity and a high-toned, laser-like finish that lasts all the way to the horizon and back.

A tremendous food Chardonnay (wait. . . do they exist? Yes they do!) — tightly wound upon release, it will only gain in texture and body as it matures. We recommend at least 6 - 8 months cellar time before opening up your first bottle in the later days of '08.
