Details: Sip, savor, and taste your way through delectable gourmet food and award-winning wines at the 2007 Temecula Valley Food & Wine Classic and silent auction on Sept. 15 at Thornton Winery. All the best of Wine Country and dining spots throughout the Temecula Valley will come to you at the picturesque fountain terrace at Thornton Winery. "It's a nice way to have all the wineries and local restaurants featured together in one venue," said Tomi Arbogast, executive director of the Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association, event sponsor. "It's also a great way to enjoy award-winning wine that is specially paired with the food." Participating restaurants include Baily's Old Town Temecula, The Pinnacle Restaurant at Falkner Winery, Cafe Champagne at Thornton Winery, The Smokehouse Restaurant at Ponte Winery, Vineyard Rose at South Coast Winery, Allies, Scarcella's Italian Grill and The Plantation House Restaurant at Maurice Car'rie Winery. Twenty-one Temecula wineries will take part in the Classic, including Baily, Bella Vista, Briar Rose, Callaway, Churon, Falkner, Filsinger, Hart, Keyways, La Cereza, Leonesse, Maurice Car'rie, Miramonte, Mount Palomar, Palumbo, Ponte, South Coast, Stuart Cellars, Thornton, Wiens Family Cellars and Wilson Creek. The relaxed evening of food and wines begins at 7 p.m. and lasts until 10 p.m. Talk with chefs and winemakers and bid on exciting silent auction packages ranging from wine, hotel stays, golf packages and complimentary dinners at area restaurants as Temecula's Wine Country celebrates the 2007 harvest.
