Location:
Gary's Wine & Marketplace of Wayne, Madison & Bernardsville

Details: As many of you know, we will be featuring Crystal Head Vodka tonight instead of our craft beer tasting, but fear not, malts and hops make their return on Thursday, June 20th. From 5-7pm all Gary's locations will be featuring Belgian style beers that are brewed in the United States. Belgian ales are some of the most traditional, complex and refined beers being made in the world. Belgian styles tend to be sweeter and more effervescent than those of American style beers and have a much stronger focus on yeast flavors as opposed to hops. But Americans have learned how to take the Belgian characteristics and blend them with the current trends in the craft beer revolution creating versions you have to taste to believe. Three of the most common styles in Belgium are Dubbel, Tripel and Quad. These beers vary in color from dark, to light, to dark, and increase their alcohol content with each step up. Dubbels and Quads feature delicious dark fruit characteristics along with strong but pleasant alcohol notes and pair beautifully with warm Brie covered in fig or date jam. Tripels have more of a spicy character and a lighter body that pairs nicely with nutty aged cheeses like Manchego. Join us next Thursday to delve deeper into the American interpretations of the Belgian brewing tradition.
