Print | Microbrew Thursday: Oskar Blues Brewery | Event Date: Start Date: Thursday, 5-9-2013
Time: 5-7PM
Cost: call
Location: Gary's Wine & Marketplace of Wayne, Madison & Bernardsville Wayne, Madison & Bernardsville, NJ | Details: A pioneer in craft beer packaging, Colorado’s Oskar Blues was the first to can a craft beer. While many were first skeptical that the metal would affect the flavor, it soon became clear that the cans did nothing to diminish the handcrafted beer contained within. Join us next Thursday, May 9th at any Gary’s location between 5-7PM as we feature four beers from their lineup, including one limited release seasonal that will have your palette wanting more.
DALE’S PALE ALE: The Oskar Blues staple, Dale’s is a hoppy pale that satisfies hop heads but doesn’t leave you with overwhelming hop bitterness, creating a balance that is sure to satisfy.
MAMA’S LITTLE YELLA PILS: As a Czech pilsner, this crisp lager has a slightly fuller body and slightly more hop character than its German counterparts.
OLD CHUB: This behemoth of a Scotch Ale has a huge malt character and a thick mouthfeel; a true malt bomb with hints of toffee, vanilla and smoked wood.
GUBNA: This delicious Imperial IPA is only released once a year and is highly coveted. The obscene amount of hops manages to cover up the high alcohol content and balances out a beer that is to be enjoyed in moderation.
Whether you like the light and crisp, super hoppy, or deliciously malty this beer tasting has something for everyone. For more on these beers, including pairing suggestions visit our blog.
